The Golf de la Gruyère is located in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland, about 15 minutes from Bulle. The course is located in a peaceful country setting.
The Gruyère Golf Course is an 18-hole par 70 course designed by Swiss architect Mario Verdieri in 1983. Built on a hilly terrain with hills, ponds and trees, it offers a variety of landscapes and challenges for golfers of all levels.
The course begins with a relatively easy par 5 hole. Then things get more complicated with narrow fairways and water hazards such as ponds and streams. The course is fairly short, with holes ranging from 108 to 440 yards. It is challenging and requires great accuracy to avoid obstacles and well-placed bunkers.
One of the most spectacular holes on the course is the 9th hole, a par 4 that requires a precise shot through a pond to reach the green.
The Gruyère golf course is well maintained and has fast greens and well defined fairways. It is also suitable for beginners.
The Gruyère clubhouse has a restaurant with a panoramic view of the course and Lake Gruyère, as well as a well-equipped pro-shop. The course is open from March to November, offering the possibility to play golf during most of the year.
